Trustee Directors

Headway WM has always been fortunate to have a strong board of Trustee Directors who have been fully supportive to the Chief Executive and forward thinking in its approach.

The board of directors of the company are also trustees of the charity.

We are always keen to expand the Board of Trustee Directors and expecially welcome people with different skills and from many backgrounds.   We try to have a wide representation of people to ensure that we have input from people of all ages, disability, sex and race.

All Trustees receive an Induction Pack and Directors Handbook fully explaining the roles and responsibilities

Being a Trustee does not always require experience and skills, we also welcome people who are able to give their time and enthuasiasm.

We expect that a Trustee will give a small amount of committment to turning up for meetings etc and everything discussed in meetings is treated with the strictest of confidence.

We are always in need of people with the following experiences:-

    • A Carer of someone with a disability.

    • Work experience in a Primary Care Trust or Local Authority.

    • Work experience in Health or Social Care.

    • Local community involvement in the West Midlands.

    • Business skills

Board meetings are held every month (except 4 meeting per year are provsional) at the Headway House, usually on a Monday evening between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. The Board has a full yearly schedule of responsibilities which include:-

  • agreeing 3 year strategies
  • quarterly reviews of accounts
  • agreeing Annual Budgets and Staff Salaries
  • Items required under Charity & Company law
  • providing support to the Chief Executive & staff teams

Occassionally Trustees may be asked to join a sub-committee; they are usually set up for a particular 'one off' project or certain aspects of the management of HWM that would benefit from Trustee input, such as Quality Standards Review or Policy making.

If you are interested in joining our Board as a Trustee Director, please contact David Chater by leaving your details at 0121-457-7541 or emailing enquiries@headway-wm.org.uk.
