My name is Peter John Woodhill,

I was born in December 1960 and I support Sunderland AFC.  I like to go to the cinema and the theatre as well as visiting national trust properties.  Before I had my stoke I was a Warden for a Methodist church in Selly Park.
In 2007 I thought I had flu, However  I at the  Queen Elizabeth hospital they firstly believed I had TB and then I was I was diagnosed with having meningitis and I had an abscess on my brain stem, and I had to have four lumber punctures.
As a result of my brain injury my balance and eye sight is poor, and I can’t swallow, everything is more difficult than it used to be, but I have a carer who helps me with day to day living.
Before coming to headway I had low self esteem, however since coming to headway my confidence has improved a lot in the 3 months I have been here and I get a lot from being here.  I still get tired a lot after coming to Headway but I really enjoy it.
